Alpha is an opportunity for anyone, anywhere, to freely explore, learn and have conversations around big issues, questions of life and basics of the Christian faith. Alpha typically runs for 11 weeks, where each Alpha session has three key elements: food, a short film, and discussion in a small group.

We know that every generation is unique in the way they experience the world and explore matters of faith. Teenagers are no different. With social media, teenagers have an active voice that shapes culture and influences their peers; and we want to know, what do they think about Jesus? How can they be reached with the gospel?

Alpha will partner with Barna Group to launch a special study on “Teens and Jesus”, to help churches understand teenagers better, and to reach them with the gospel in new ways. Teens have been described as optimistic, engaged, malleable, curious, authentic, inclusive, and collaborative. When the study is completed, we will share findings of the Global and Indonesian Survey and other resources through an easy-to-use website for pastors and youth leaders in Indonesia.

Story

Alpha online guest, Pina Tangkuo:

I feel so blessed by joining Alpha. During one of the Weekend Away sessions, there was a time to pray. I shared my struggle, which was about my mother who has been sick. An Alpha group leader prayed but I initially didn’t think much about online prayer. However, when the Alpha meeting was over, I could see God starting to heal my mother! By the time I met up for the next Alpha session, which was about healing, God had healed my mother completely.

Alpha online guest, Jeanet Sahuleka (picture to the left):

At first, I didn’t really believe in online sessions, but my opinion changed after joining Alpha Weekend Away. When my group leader asked for prayer requests, I only shared a few main points of prayer about my work but interestingly, what was prayed for was exactly what I needed. I even received answers from God through the prayers delivered! I am happy to be able to join Alpha online. Thank you for this opportunity.
